Change was in the air

July 6, 2008

I was feeling different. I had survived the turmoil that was my mid life crisis. I had learnt (and changed), and decided it was time for a New Chapter.

I have opened Comfort Food like a new piece of slate upon which to start afresh. I can’t predetermine the content of this new blog, only that the things I choose to write about here will reflect the differences I feel. Some of the epossums themes will be left behind and new ones will begin.

Dear trousers, having a new slate is a little daunting. The desire to write has returned however. It came back to me on Friday after I went market shopping (which always puts me in a good mood).

Thank you Charlotte. The changes have been immense. But in a weird way I feel like I’ve just found me again, and so there have been no changes at all – just an eventful cycle. I once read ‘Women Who Run With the Wolves’. The author asserted that women are intimately familiar with the birth-death-rebirth cycle that weaves constantly through life (upon reading this at the time I must admit I just thought wtf). But maybe something-like-this is what she was talking about…?

Dearest mirabella. My thoughts are with you as you jet off to the UK to visit your family. Thankyou for knitting me my Most Sensational Beret. I have been wearing it constantly since Saturday xx

Dear Kate, I hope the summer sun is doing wonders for you. The photos in your blog are beautiful. Down here I must admit I am enjoying my first winter at home in two years because snow has finally fallen on our high plains and just this weekend I took my girls skiing. They want to go every weekend now, and I am happy beyond measure. I used to go every weekend before they were born!

Thanks for your encouragement. I think it was time for a change in the blog. I have landed on my feet and there have been many changes. I’m nolonger obsessed with young men for example (um, well: appreciative, yes; obsessed, no! lol).
